Three best friends decide to take a road trip in Spain before their friend, Kabir’s, marriage. However, without them realizing it, the trip ends up helping Arjun find the love of his life, healing Farhan’s wounds and helping Kabir identify what he actually wants.

This is the plot of the 2011 Bollywood movie, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. The movie was directed by Zoya Akhtar and produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani of Excel Entertainment. The movie was starred Abhay Deol, Farhan Akhtar, Hrithik Roshan, Katrina Kaif and Kalki Koechlin. The movie grossed ₹1.53 billion worldwide and became a commercial success.

Although, it was one of the movies released alongside many others that year, Zindagi Naa Milegi Dobara was highly appreciated for its content. The movie also received critical acclaim for its story, the performances of the ensemble cast, captivating music, heat touching humour and unbeatable direction.

The film definitely left an impact on many people. Firstly, it will compel you to take more trips. Since, going to Spain might not fit into everyone’s budget, the closest thing to that beauty is the state of Jammu & Kashmir in India. And, with the availability of affordable Jammu to Delhi flights, planning a trip will be a breeze.

Before you start planning the trip, here are four lessons, the movie taught me.

1. Make the Most of Every Moment

Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara means you only live once — the quintessential YOLO. The title itself is telling you to live life to the fullest and gather as many experiences and memories as you can. Live in the moment and don’t regret the past or worry about the future.

Face Your Fears

Most of us spend our life trapped by certain fears that acts as barriers to our growth. To overcome your fears, you need to face them first. In the movie, three friends experience three different adventure sports to overcome their fears. The immense sense of achievement after the experience of facing one’s fear is not just palpable, it is infectious.

Embrace Your Friendships

Who do you think understands you most in the world, at times, more that you? Surprisingly, for most of us, it is not our parents but our best friends. They are the ones we head towards when in doubt or during a stressful situation. It is your friends with whom you can play those childish pranks that keeps the child inside you alive.

Accept the Truth

The movie tells us to accept what life throws at us. You can always ask for help from your friends, who will never hesitate to tell you the truth to your face. A surprising revelation coming from the most trusted person in the world makes it easy for you to accept it.

So, now that you know the ingredients for a memorable trip, check out those domestic flights and plan a holiday to remember for life.
