It is hard to leave your city even for few a days when it is as happening as Bengaluru, but sometimes you just need a change of air to feel rejuvenated. Talking of fresh and rejuvenating, one city that comes to mind is the one that never sleeps, Mumbai. The City of Dreams, the financial capital of India and home to Bollywood and beaches, Mumbai definitely is a city that you must visit at least one. This city is also an extravaganza of culture, art, history and beauty, with something for everyone.

And, if you live in Bengaluru, you have some many regular Bengaluru to Mumbai flights to choose from for the perfect holiday. Here are some places you must visit while in the city.

The Taj Hotel

Founded by Sir JN Tata, Taj Landsend is India’s first 5 star hotel, founded in 1903. It is located just opposite the Gateway of India. The Taj Mahal hotel and tower are two different buildings of the hotel, built at different times. Taj Mahal Palace is the first property in India to get intellectual property rights protection for its famous architectural design. A trip to the Taj is a trip into the history, pride and glory of India.

Haji Ali Dargah

Named after the great Muslim saint, Pir Haji Ali Bukhari, the mosque is located on an small island near Worli. The saint is said to have died on his trip to Mecca, although his casket came back floating to this island, on which his shrine was built in 15th century. The dargah reflects the attitude of Mumbai, since it welcomes visitors from all faiths and religions. If you are lucky enough, you might just catch a Qawali performance, which is the highlight of a visit to the Dargah.

Gateway of India

The Gateway of India was built to commemorate the visit of King George V and Queen Mary to India for their formal proclamation as Emperor and Empress of India at the Delhi Durbar in December 1911. It is one of the most popular tourist hotspots in Mumbai. The architecture of the monument is a confluence of Western, Arabic and Indian architecture. The Gateway served as the entry and exit access point for India through the waterways before independence.

Marine Drive

A C-shaped road, stretching from Nariman point to Babulnath, Marine Drive is one of the favourite spots for Mumbaikars and tourists alike. It is one of finest spots to witness the sunset at dusk and take a stroll on the seaside, especially at night. Marine Drive is also known as the Queen’s Necklace because of its C-shape creating an illusion of a string of pearls when the street lights come on at night.

Convinced about visiting Mumbai yet? If yes, then get on with booking flight tickets on one of those Bengaluru to Mumbai flights and witness the glorious past and beautiful present of the city that never sleeps.
